The Felled Chestnut

The Felled Chestnut – Fine art print – Unframed, Unmatted
This photograph has been published in the book “Undiagnosed” and will also find a place in the series “SPIRITUS TERRAE – Il respiro della terra”.
This was a heritage chestnut tree that has been cut down. It is along a trail in the woods once used by pilgrims and travellers, the “via Francigena”, in Italy. Despite some sponsors offered Kyoto protocol credits in euros to reduce deforestation and, consequently, to cut down the carbon footprint, a mindless wood harvesting continues even in natural reserves.

I choose the paper depending on the subject, the content and the size of the image. Base material, finish and grain may vary from photo to photo. If you order a batch I will print all the photos on the same paper though. All paper is archival and museum grade quality. I mostly use cotton fiber (photo rag) or alpha-cellulose paper 300 gr/m – Hahnemühle or Canson.
Signed and numbered open edition
This print is sold UNMATTED and UNFRAMED, pictured with mat to illustrate size and suggest framing option.
